Popping down to Blockbuster isn’t always convenient, or cheap.
Sometimes as a student you’ll find yourself wanting to have a little fun, but you’ll also find that there’s never anything on the telly.
One great solution to this is using an online DVD rental service.
For a monthly fee which is usually quite low (you’ll get your first month free), these services will post you out DVD disks for you to watch until you feel like sending them back. Once you’re done, post them back in the envelope they sent you, and they’ll just as soon post you another one.
All you have to do is keep a list of the films or DVDs you’d like to rent. They’ll pick and send the ones at the top of your list.
The great thing about these services is that they don’t just do films, and usually have a massive number of DVDs to rent. These always include TV shows and concerts which you might have missed when they were showing.
As an added bonus, these services are especially useful if you are doing Media Studies, because they allow you to rent out really great classic films to have look at without any hassle. You can also just choose to rent out some of the best films from a certain genre you’re studying, and once you’re finished watching them you’ll certainly have a better understanding of the genre.
