A-level physics information and communication revision notes

Prime yourself for the exam with our top quality notes on information and communication, designed to get you the most marks out of that part of the course. Topics include the system of real time communication, time division multiplexing and how information could be sent across the world. Great!

New AS Physics Tests on Information and Communication

Ooh! Something new and shiny! We've added three new tests to our AS Physics section on the topic of information and communication. You can now test yourself on things like Audio Information, Base Bandwidths and Sampling. Excelenté!

We've also:
  • made it super quick to sign up - there's only four things you need to tell us now, and it's still free!
  • fixed a little problem with the menu at the top of the page.
And on top of that! Related to the A-Level physics thing, over on Buster Studies we've written a great cheat sheet for circular motion equations. Good thing, really, because there are loads of equations.

New Buster Studies Articles

If you're revising physics a-level, take a look at our article on Waves, Polarisation, Reflection and Refraction for AS AQA Physics. Or if you're revising AQA AS chemistry, our notes on Collision Theory and Maxwell-Boltzmann distributions in kinetics might interest you.

New Buster Studies Content!

Over at Buster Studies we've had the great writer Herman Park join the team. He's written three great articles so far, one about how to do well and drive yourself to achievement and a two-parter on how to do better in your GCSE English exam (part two is great, too).

We've also got a great new factsheet for AS Chemistry students on Energetics (Enthalpy, delta-H, Hess's Law and calorimetry), and a great set of essay notes for A2 OCR Media Studies (Freedom, Regulation and Control of the British Press) with arguments for and against more regulation of the British press.

Brilliant! You can even subscribe to Buster Studies articles though RSS!

Buster Studies

We've started a brand new section here on Buster Tests - Buster Studies.

It's an online magazine which aims to help you with your studying and revision with some great tips, news, reviews and generally cool stuff.

Things that have been covered recently include renting DVDs online for Media Studies, how to manage your time, how to make great notes in class, how to boost your confidence in a subject, how to use Blogger for a Media Studies production log, how to list short courses in your CV and how the experts might soon let you use their research for your research.

Great!

You can even subscribe to it using an RSS feed, and we're also looking for writers.

What's Coming Up This Year - Great New Tests & Tools

Buster Tests has had a blinding first year, coming very far since it's conception. But we're not done yet, and I suspect neither are you.

Now that you've gotten your A* in GCSE Physics, there's a chance you'll be taking it at A-Level. If you are, you'll be delighted to know that by the end of the summer holidays Buster Tests will have lots and lots of calculation tests for nearly every type of calculation you may have to do for AS, and all for A2 before the exams come up.

We're also considering introducing driving theory tests and are working on some GCSE Chemistry material.

An even newer release of our Revision List software will be released, along with some personal statistics features, which I'm sure will knock your socks off and get you very well prepared for the next round of exams.

But never mind that - you've just been though the hell of GCSE exams! Go back to bed!

AMAZING New Feature!

I am delighted to announce yet another tool to get your brain remembering things!

It hasn't been given a fancy name yet - we're working on that - but it does work very nicely!

In tests you can now see a little "tick" icon next to the answer box or options.

Clicking on that little tick will drop down a box on the page, showing you the full solution to the question!

Now you can learn twice as fast, because you don't have to wait until you mark your test to see how to do a question, or if you are correct or not!

This feature works in most new tests, and will be appearing in all future tests!

Take a look at an example - a rather difficult circular motion test.

New Subjects, New Tests

Now that the AS physics examinations are over, it's time to start learning A2 physics.

So for those of you out there who are doing circular motion, take a look at our two new tests on the subject.
Enjoy!

New My Buster Layout

It's now nicer to look at and easier to use. Brilliant. Take a look!

Three New Gurt Lush GCSE Phsyics Calculations Tests

GCSE physics exams are only days away! What you need right now is some quickfire calculation questions to get you ready for the exam!

I've just made three new tests to help you do that!
Lucky Dip - Calculations 1 (electricity, energy)
Lucky Dip - Calculations 2 (kinematics)
Lucky Dip - Calculations 3 (waves, GPE, KE)

Complete all of them with a mark higher than 95% and you can consider yourself VERY ready for those tests! There are LOADS of marks in your test for calculations, and if you can answer these ones you'll certainly be able to answer the ones in your test (ESPECIALLY EDEXCEL DOUBLE SCIENCE PEOPLE!)

You'll be pushed to find something quite like this anywhere else on the interweb!

Good luck everyone!

Happy Site Improvements

It's just so much nicer to take a test now!

Colour is Fun, and You Need That Right Now

I've made some cracking (yes, cracking) additions and adjustments to the front page today.

Firstly, the "block of clarity" has had a new coat of paint, this time with some nice oranges. Secondly, you can now find out about Buster Tests all from the home page, with a new (or, if you like, improved) "what is Buster Tests?" block at the bottom.

Go and see for yourself. All this colour is bound to cheer you up from your revision woes.
