New Grading System

I've introduced a new, quite simple, grading system to the site. It should help you to put your results into context.

Remember, however, that it works on your percentage results, and isn't an accurate prediction of your results in any way. It simply helps to use it as a comparison between other tests.

GCSE Results Day

All over Britain, students' GCSE results have been the hot topic as thousands get their highly anticipated grades today.

I did rather well myself, but nowhere near as well as a girl in my class who got A*s in everything... except R.E.!

On the Horizon

I'm back from my holiday and am already working on the site!

At the moment I am making mostly background improvements that make the site run faster and with less hassle to the user, but soon I'll be implementing a grading system to the tests, which should be able to tell you roughly what grade your results are. It will not, however, be precise.

It will also allow me to open up a new part of the site that I have been waiting to make: the 'fun tests' section. I have a few tests lined up, but you're just going to have to wait to find out what they are!

More GCSE Physics Tests Coming Soon

I am off to the Isle of Wight on Saturday, which means there won't be any updates for a week.

But when I come back I will get to work making more new tests, specifically for Forces and Motion. It's a hard topic to convert into digital tests, but we'll get there eventually.

There is now less than a month until many GCSE students return for a final year of study before their exams, and another new set of students will be starting their study for their GCSE qualifications. My advice? Make sure you have a simple, decent set of pens and pencils, lots of A4 paper at home for roughly writing down what you learnt at school when you get home, and LOTS of rest.

Stress levels can get seriously high during terms, especially because of ill-planned coursework deadlines (specifically History, Science and Maths).

So there you have it! Relax!

What Does BusterTests* Mean?

The Buster Tests logo and brand took a long time to come up with. But what does it actually mean?

Well, "buster" means a good few things. Essentially it is an active name, and also the name of my dog. I think it's quite a nice name, so added it onto the site.

"Tests" means tests. There is no hidden meaning there.

But what about the "*" after "bustertests"? Cleverly enough, * is the symbol for 'electronically excited' in Chemistry. Are electronically excited tests what you should be after?

Well, it's the basis for the entire site. So... yes.
